I strive to create art that lures people in to a new liminal space, a space where anything is possible…

My name is Tindra Englund and I’m a full time sculptor. My art often delves into the conflicts we experience both internally and within our global society.

From Journalist to Stonecarver

In my ten years as a journalist, I have often worked with tight deadlines within a framework of an artificial objectivity.

For me, my stone sculptures are the very antithesis of quick-write clickbait and it is therefore with a sense of great relief that I now venture away from the editorial offices and into the depths of the stone.

Captured by its imperishable nature, my perspective is slowly changing. For not many news articles are preserved for a couple of decades and very few stone sculptures are destroyed within a century...

Stenhuggarkvinnor

In 2024, I helped start the sculpture collective Stenhuggarkvinnor (Stone Carving Women). The collective's purpose is to support and inspire each other as sculptors, and we often work in our shared stone studio on Öland. In 2026, we will organize a major exhibition and hold several beginner courses for those who want to learn how to carve limestone.
