CV

Full time sculptor, carving sculptures by hand out of limestone from Öland.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I am a Swedish sculptor, primarily working with limestone sourced from Öland. With my hammer and chisel, I employ ancient techniques to create sculptures that address some of the most pressing issues of our time. My art often delves into the conflicts we experience both internally and within our global society.

The limestone I use for my sculptures is rich in fossils and life, with each stone possessing its own unique characteristics—much like the diversity of human conflict. As a sculptor, it is essential to first listen to the stone and understand its essence before working with the stone to gently unveil what lies within.

PUBLICATIONS

During my studies my focus was on an artform called larp (live action roleplay) and the potential use of this artform as a tool for conflict transformation and peacebuilding. I used an ethnographic method and semi structured interviews and preformed my field studies 2014 in Ramallah, Palestine.
Live action role play in a context of conflict, an ethnographic study of larp in Ramallah (2014): http://www.diva-portal.org/smash/get/diva2:1482581/FULLTEXT01.pdf

My studies also resulted in a chapter in the book “Birth of larp in the Arab world”, published in 2016 by LNU, Studieförbundet Kultur och Tradisjon, Norway.

But before this I did a pilot study in Sweden that resulted in a thesis of its own:

Lajv, ett möjligt verktyg för konflikttransformation (2013).
